Over the past year, TLT has been evaluating lecture capture systems in several classrooms. Lecture capture technology allows for highly automated recording and publishing of classroom audio and podium video. The solutions being evaluated include Echo360 and Panopto. Assessment conducted with faculty and students participating in this pilot, as well as literature review, shows the potential for a positive impact on student learning due to improved study habits, better note-taking, and lower anxiety in the classroom. This panel will begin with a brief presentation of assessment results and examples of recorded lectures, followed by a discussion with pilot participants.
