Improving Quality of Work and Course Grades through Digital Publishing with the Blogs at Penn State

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

In spring 2010, students in a required undergraduate composition course adopted the Blogs at Penn State platform to use as the foundation for writing, peer review, and publishing. The study compared this method to the traditional paper-based writing and review process. Since the redesign, grades have improved by an average of one full letter grade. The presenters will explain how the research study was completed, share the results, and discuss student perceptions. They will discuss with attendees ways to adapt the traditional classroom to provide deeper student learning experiences and additional ways of using digital publishing in courses.
